An exciting weekend of networking, learning, & fun!
Friday, May 30 to Sunday, June 1, 2008
University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, NM

Benefit Auction

As one of the conference events, we will be holding a fast-paced, high-energy benefit auction Saturday night. Proceeds will go to FIC, to us in our mission to bring the information and inspiration of community to the widest possible audience. You can help in two ways:

1) Bring items to donate to the auction--products (how about a jar of Aunt Polly's homemade cherry preserves, or a bottle of wine), crafts (a wooden carving, or a piece of stained glass art), services that can be delivered locally or at the conference (such as a massage or Tarot reading), a weekend stay for two at your luxurious home... use your imagination! If you want to let us know what you'll be bringing please email laird-[@]-ic.org.

2) Bring your wallet--there will be bargains galore, and every dollar will be used to make community that much more accessible to a world hungry for positive alternatives.

Items already donated

One quart each of Sandhill Honey and Sandhill Sorghum
Both of these pure natural sweeteners are processed on the farm operated by this 34-year-old intentional community in northeast Missouri. The record bid for this distinctive pairing is $76. The highest bid gets both jars.

Two Twin Oaks hammocks
These beauties were handcrafted at one the most well-known and well-established intentional communities in North America. They will be sold separately, and each retail for over $100.

Geoph Kozeny's personal copy of the 2000 edition Communities Directory
We tragically lost the Peripatetic Communitarian to pancreatic cancer last fall. We are selling a few of his personal items to help raise money to continue the community networking he dedicated his life to.

Several Carribean Cruise Packages (no, we aren't joking...)
Of various lengths and with various perks. Come prepared to drop some cash on your dream vacation and support your favorite community-oriented nonprofit at the same time.

Costs: Sliding scale $110-200.
