A meditation/yoga community based on the spiritual teachings of
Paramahansa Yogananda, founded by the master's disciple Kriyanada
(J. Donald Walters). Dedicated to a life of high ideals and simple
living, the community promotes its values, disciplines, and way
of life through such ventures as The Expanding Light retreat center,
work study programs, tours, retreats, urban teaching centers,
meditation groups, and a publishing business. Some shared housing
and some family-style living units. Members support themselves
through a variety of community and private businesses.
